Dennis grew up in a working-class Houston family that struggled after losing his father, so he understands how rising property taxes can threaten a family’s stability. Dennis knows the pressure that Texans face with skyrocketing property. That’s why he’s committed to expanding compression, raising the homestead exemption, and ultimately eliminating school property taxes while keeping schools funded.

Border Security & Illegal Immigration

Dennis understands that Texas must remain vigilant in defense of our border. He has consistently supported Operation Lone Star and the state’s aggressive border-security measures in the Legislature. In the Senate, he will continue championing strong enforcement and the resources needed to support federal action.

Public Safety & Crime

Dennis’ belief in public safety was strengthened by decades of work on infrastructure and emergency preparedness. As the only Professional Engineer in the Legislature, he brings a technical understanding of how to protect communities and strengthen critical systems. He will continue fighting to keep violent criminals off the streets and ensure Texans can rely on safe, resilient communities.

Jobs & Economic Development

As the son of an entrepreneur, Dennis understands job creation from the ground up. His career designing major structures and his legislative leadership on aerospace and infrastructure give him a deep grasp of Texas’ economic engine. He’ll continue advancing policies that keep taxes low, regulations reasonable, and Texas the nation’s top job creator.

Education Freedom & Public-School Funding

Dennis has fought to ensure our public schools are fully funded in the Legislature. Every Texas child has a right to a good education, every Texas teacher deserves a fair wage, and every parent has a right to make educational choices for their children. He’ll continue supporting full public-school funding while protecting new opportunities for educational freedom.

Flood Control, Drainage, and Coastal Protection

As the only Professional Engineer in the Legislature, he brings real technical expertise to the state’s flooding and drainage challenges. He led the creation of the Gulf Coast Protection District to advance the coastal barrier system across Galveston Bay, one of Texas’s most important storm mitigation projects. In the Texas Senate, he will continue fighting for regional flood control, stronger drainage systems, smarter infrastructure investments, and long term coastal resilience for the Gulf Coast.
